Using State of the Art GentleLase Plus and LightSheer Diode Lasers

We at LaserCare are pleased and excited to offer you the most advanced lasers for hair removal, that protects the skin while delivering maximal energy to the hair follicle. We have been performing laser hair removal treatments successfully for 10 years.  We own three of the best hair removal lasers on the market today and have treated hundreds of satisfied clients.  We realize there are many different hair removal choices on the market today and as hair removal experts as well as experienced cosmetic nurses and estheticians, we are able to clarify some of the confusion.

At LaserCare we use both the Candela Alexandrite GentleLase and the LightSheer Diode Laser by Lumenis, both yielding excellent results.  Our clients have 70-100% hair reduction after 4-6 treatments.  Results start right away...You will have no hair for 6 weeks or more following your first treatment with no rash or ingrown hairs!

We are pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to receive this state-of-the-art technology at affordable prices, and in many convenient locations. Pricing is according to the area  to be treated.  We offer competitive pricing and have a great package plan, payment plan and discounts for large or multiple areas.  Whether you have excessive facial hair, are an athlete, or just simply tired of shaving or waxing, we would like to help.  At LaserCare, we have hair removal lasers for all skin types and colors, including tanned and ethnic dark skin

Why is Laser Hair Removal an effective treatment?
Traditional hair removal techniques, such as shaving, plucking, waxing and depilatory creams provide only temporary relief. Until now, the only recognized way to remove hair permanently has been by electrolysis — which can be tedious, time-consuming and uncomfortable. Hair removal lasers utilize light at a particular wavelength which is highly absorbed by the pigment within the hair.  The light is converted to energy which completely disables the hair follicle and growing cells without damaging delicate pores or structures of the skin, as is often the case with electrolysis.
A laser is also different from a light-based or pulsed light hair removal device.  Lasers deliver one wavelength of light to a particular target to heat it up and ultimately disable or destroy it.  It is very focused (not filtered) and does the best job of treating exactly what we want it to. An IPL or intense pulsed light device is not a laser.  It is filtered light.  The wavelength range is larger, but because the light is filtered out, it's power is diminished and it is much more superficial.  Many more treatments would be needed and still the hair may not be permanently destroyed.  A laser treatment may cost a little bit more than a light-based treatment because the cost of the equipment is higher.  However, fewer treatments are needed.

Why is Laser Hair Removal a safe treatment?
During a laser treatment the skin is protected by patented cooling systems.  Our GentleLase Plus laser uses a Dynamic Cooling Device in which cryogen is sprayed onto the skin, cooling the upper layers and providing patients with increased comfort.  The Light Sheer Diode system uses a ChillTip™ hand piece which actively cools before, during and after the treatment pulse to protect the skin and allows the use of higher treatment energy for maximum results.

Who is a good candidate for Laser Hair Removal?
Since light energy is absorbed by the skin pigment called melanin, those individuals with coarse, dark hair and light skin respond best. In people with darker skin color (more melanin), the skin competes with the hair for absorption of laser energy resulting in potential damage to the skin, not the hair. Until now, people with a tan or very dark skin were not considered candidates for laser hair removal.  Our new Light Sheer Diode Laser has now made it possible to treat skin of all colors using aggressive skin cooling and a choice of pulse durations. This means that by delivering the laser pulse over a longer period of time, the skin can be adequately cooled and protected.

People with light colored hair (blonde, gray, red) have little to no melanin and, therefore, do not respond to laser hair removal treatments. For those with a mix of dark and light hair, we suggest a combination of laser and electrolysis treatments to effectively treat all the unwanted hair. We find the two methods work well together to bring about a quicker permanent result.

Since a hair must be present in the hair follicle for a laser treatment to be successful, a new client should wait at least one month after waxing or tweezing.  During this time any new growth can be shaved or cut.  The hair should not be long at the time of treatment.

Are there any adverse effects of Laser Hair Removal?
There is some mild discomfort associated with laser treatments. For very sensitive patients, a prescription for a topical anesthetic cream is provided. After the treatment there is some redness or swelling which lasts from a couple of hours to a couple of days. Occasionally crusting or pigment change (temporary) can occur, and very rarely, blistering, infection or scarring can develop. It is important to know that the darker the skin, the more there is risk. We suggest an inconspicuous test spot (no charge) when there is any doubt.

What parts of the body can be treated?
All body hair, on both men and women, can be treated, including backs, legs, underarms, bikini lines, nose hair, ears, and facial hair.  Facial, underarm and bikini areas are usually completed in less than ten minutes.  Legs, backs and other large areas can take an hour or more.  We find that 4 to 6 treatments spaced about 6-8 weeks apart are required for complete results.  This number will depend on how many active hair follicles the patient has, as well as many other contributing factors.  At LaserCare Cosmetic Centers we offer a free consultation and test area for all interested patients and welcome any further questions.
